This lovely cable hat/toque combines my absolute favourite cables. It was designed for my brother-in-law as a Christmas gift as he loves wearing toques outside in the cold Canadian Newfoundland winters.

The hat is knit in the round with 4.5mm (US 7) double pointed and 5.00mm (US 8) double pointed needles from the ribbed edging up to the top of the hat.

The sample is knit with New Lanark Double Knit (100% wool), 50 grams/120 meters (132 yards) per ball, with two balls of Pebble Grey. Wool is particularly warm but other fibers would also work well with this hat pattern.

The pattern includes instructions for two sizes, size small with a circumference of 17.5” (44.5cm), and size medium with a circumference of 22” (59cm).

The instructions in the pattern are written and a chart is provided for the cables.

Hope you enjoy the pattern! Happy knitting!
