Christine’s Australian Outback Blanket

With this easy-to-follow pattern, you can create a beautiful blanket that will keep you warm and snug while you watch your favorite show.

Christine’s Australian Outback is special because it’s the only one I’ve seen that features 3 different animals that can only be found in Australia!

Most everyone is familiar with the koala and the kangaroo, but you might not recognize that spiny critter at the bottom of the blanket. It is an echidna!

Echidnas can only be found in Australia and New Guinea which makes them a fun and unexpected addition to my “Christine’s Australian Outback” pattern!

This pattern can be done in any colors you wish.

You may use your choice of any Worsted (#4 weight) or DK/Sport (#3 weight) yarn.

NOTE: This pattern does not include how to do the tapestry technique for changing colors within the row.

The pattern is designed to work in overlay mosaic crochet using only ONE color at a time.

Stitches Used - US Terms:
Ch - Chain
SC - Single Crochet
BLSC - Back Loop Single Crochet
FLDC - Front Loop Double Crochet 2 Rows Down

Skill Level:
Beginner - As long as you know the basics of crocheting, you will be able to do this project. Mosaic crochet looks a lot more complex than it really is.

I have had several people that were brand new to mosaic crochet try my patterns and each one was able to follow the instructions and were successful in their projects.
