This pattern is for an Overlay mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

The sample square uses 2 oz of black for the background, along with around .5 oz of grey, pink, red, teal, green & gold for the ornaments. You could do each ornament in different solid colors, or do stripes like the sample. The instructions include how to do either.

This is a great way to use up scraps!
