The Chunkadelicious Cowl and Scarf is are-imagined variation on a theme of the Running Tide Cowl, upsized to super- bulky, and upgraded to include two sizes of cowl, and directions for a long scarf featuring a reversible cable pattern.

All versions are worked flat. The two cowls begin with a provisional cast-on, and then the top and bottom rows are grafted together.

Finished Sizes:
Single Wrap Cowl: Circumference 74 cm, 29” Width 14 cm 5.5”
Double Wrap Cowl: Circumference 148 cm, 58” Width 14 cm 5.5”
Long Scarf: Length 296 cm, 116.5” Width 14 cm 5.5”

Shown: Single Wrap Cowl.

Yarn: RCY Chunk-a-delic, Super Bulky, (200g/7oz, 100m/109 yds, 100% New Zealand Merino wool), 1 (2, 4) skeins. Shown in Hotel California

Needles: 12 mm US 17 straight or circular needles.

Notions: Yarn needle (if you can’t find one large enough, a floss threader or bobby pin may work for you), Cable needle, 10mm crochet hook (optional; finger crochet will work well enough; be sure to keep loops loose enough that your knitting needle can be used to pick up stitches through them), long length of waste yarn in similar gauge to pattern yarn (Bulky yarn held double can work for a reasonable match; it need not be identical in gauge).

Gauge: In cable pattern: 15.5 sts and 9.5 rows = 10cm 4”.
Width of cable panel is: 14 cm 5.5”
To save time, take time to check gauge.
