City on Fire was inspired by a particular graffiti, on the wall of the local middle school. It is a stylized depiction of a burning city, with a grey tower surrounded by red flames.
This shawl is designed using a repetive, modular, seamless construction method.
Each module has an oblong shape simulating a flame and is worked started from the top of the previous one in consecutive strips.
The final shape of the shawl is an asymmetrical triangle with a scalloped edge which creates the illusion of burning flames.
