Every sock collection needs a pair of ribbed socks. They are an instantly recognizable classic, and a return to a basic garter rib stitch for a quick, enjoyable knit. Designed to be simple and to show off beautiful colourways, these socks have a two row repeat that is easy to memorize. Perfect for knitting while watching Netflix, travelling, or when you need a break from that other complicated project you’ve got going.

Sizes
There are three sizes in the pattern, small (18cm foot circumference), medium (20cm foot circumference), and large (22.5cm foot circumference). Note that the sizes listed are measured around the sock, so find your size by measuring your foot and then subtracting 10%.

Yarn and Yardage
This pattern can be knit with DK weight yarn or fingering weight yarn!

The yardage for this sock greatly depends on the length of the leg. The fingering weight version uses approx. 210-420 yards, and the DK weight version uses approx. 160-290 yards.

Any colours of yarn will be great for this pattern! Variegated, speckled, tonal, solid: anything will work. Have a crazy multicoloured skein you’re not sure what to do with, or a beautiful solid colour you want to let shine? This pattern will work for both!

Notions
Needles (DPN’s or circulars), darning needle, stitch markers, and sock blockers.

This pattern is good for beginners with basic knowledge of cuff down, in the round, heel flap and gusset sock construction.
