Sharing a cup of coffee or tea with a friend is something I love to do. Good conversation and a cozy drink shared with someone special always make a good day better!

I designed this shawl around the theme of friendship – the yarn was dyed by a dear friend and a group of special friends test knit the pattern for me.

The colours of the shawl are warm and cozy and remind me of some of my favourite drinks – pumpkin spice
lattes, espresso and hot cocoa!

This shawl is knit with one skein of fingering weight yarn and 2 minis so it knits up into a cozy small shawl that is perfect for wrapping around your neck when there is a chill in the air!

Blocking your finished shawl well will help the lace edge bloom. This pattern is perfect for stash busting your minis or for knitting with a special sock set.

The Coffee with Friends Shawl has a unique construction. The lace edge is knit first as a separate piece and then stitches are picked up along the edge to continue knitting the shawl.

•This shawl was designed to be knit with 100 g of fingering weight yarn as your main colour (MC) and
two 20 g minis that will be your contrast colours (CC1 and CC2)
• This pattern is perfect for knitting with sock sets, or you can knit with a special single skein and use
scraps for your 2 CC
• You can carry the yarn up the side of your shawl and break the yarn only when done working with each
colour completely – less ends to weave in that way!
• You can choose similar colours for a more faded look or choose highly contrasting colours for a real
pop!
