Llys and lyss

Two designs based on the fleur-de-lys that can be used to make potholders, washclothes, bathmaths or even a blanket. From both flowers there is a row-by-row description and a chart.

If you haven’t done carreaux crochet yet, follow the instructions for the test patch. Then you can decide whether you prefer the row-by-row description or make your own mismatch patch based on the charts.

Since you can make this any size you want, hereby an impression of the used yarn for three of my patches (1 meter ~ 3.28 feet) with hook 3.5 mm:

Llys (large flower) 34 stitches / 43 rows
A. 80 meter
B. 75 meter
C. 16 meter (basic + single border)

Lyss (small flower) 23 stitches / 28 rows
A. 43 meter
B. 43 meter
C. 25 meter (basic + double border)

Mismatch patch 15 stitches / 17 rows
A. 17 meter
B. 16 meter
C. 10 meter (basic + double border)

If you want to make a blanket or throw the best way is to make several squares and attach them with your favourite technique.
