Cosy the Sheep is sweet and cuddly. She loves leaping around and chasing butterflies – so much fun in the field!

Cosy is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Cosy is approx. 13cm tall (5 inches).

You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).

You will need:

  • 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
  • 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted, less than 50g in WHITE, TAN, PINK and LILAC
  • BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

  • Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
  • When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
  • Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
  • Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item. My Cosy is approx. 13cm tall (5 inches).
  • I’ve used the following yarns: o WHITE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 403 Champagne White o TAN = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 408 Vanilla Cream o PINK = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 453 Ballet Pink o LILAC = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 442 Dusty Rose
