I have designed this easy crochet tote bag using basic crochet stitches in US terminology of chains, single crochet, half double crochets and double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. For UK and Australian crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you.

This pattern is very easy to follow with a detailed 21 page step by step guide showing large images at each stage. Of course, if you have any problems with the pattern, you are more than welcome to contact me on the email contact provided with the pattern download.

I have designed this bag in one continuous piece so there are no seams to join. You start at the base of the bag and work in rounds to the top. I used Drops Bomull-Lin Uni Colour 53% cotton, 47% linen 50g yarn for this project but any 8-10 ply cotton or cotton blend yarn would work well. Just keep in mind if you use the larger ply yarn, your finished bag will be larger than the approximate measurements listed below.

MATERIALS

CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 4.25mm, USA: G, UK: Size 8 (this is a 4.00mm comparison)

I used Drops Bomull-Lin Uni Colour 53% cotton, 47% linen 50g yarn. I purchased 3 different colours, 2 balls of colour 1 and 1 of each of colours 2 and 3. Any yarn that is an Aran weight 8 ply cotton or cotton blend would be suited to this project. You could also use a thicker yarn and a larger crochet hook to create a bigger bag.
Darning needle to sew in ends.
