What could be cozier than a soft cabled hat? This one gives you a lot of cable for not much trouble - only six rows involve cabling; the rest is just knit and purl. And no reason to squash your ponytail under your hat - a button band lets you wear your ponytail high, low, or in between, however you like. It’s worked right along with the hat, so no need to pick up stitches or do any seaming. Fun!

Skills: knit, purl, yarn over (yarn forward), psso, k2tog, and cabling. This is a good project for someone who is new to cables, but if you have never done cables before, the Most Comfortable Braided Cable Headband is a great project for first cables, with pictures for every step of the cable work.

Yarn selection: This pattern has enough texture to look great with solid colors, but also simple enough for a gradient or speckled yarn.

Pattern support: Designer email in included in the pattern in case you run into questions.
