Cuff-down hand knit socks featuring a cable motif!

THE STORY
In a poll I took, the split between ribbed sock fans and stockinette sock fans came back as an even tie! So these are the stockinette sisters to the Cribble Socks!

MATERIALS

• Green Mountain Spinnery Sock Art Forest (2-ply sock weight; 70% fine American wool, 30% tencel; 400 yds / 366 m per 3.5 oz / 100g), 1 skein: ‘Gold 7696’
• US 1.5 (2.5 mm) 32” / 81 cm circular needle
• Fixed stitch markers (3)
• Row counter (optional)
• Tapestry needle

FINISHED SIZES
7 (8, 9, 10)” / 18 (20.5, 23, 25.5) cm circumference (unstretched).
Fit: ½ - 1” / 1.5 - 2.5 cm of negative ease is recommended

PROJECT GAUGE
32 sts and 48 rows = 4” / 10 cm over stockinette stitch in the round, taken after blocking

NOTES

• These socks are worked from the cuff-down and feature a Gusset Heel. These socks are mirrors of one another. Links to video tutorials and written instructions of all special techniques are provided.

• Instructions are given for smallest size with additional sizes in parentheses. When only one set of instructions is given, it applies to all sizes.

• The Leg of the sock is currently designed to be approximately 5½” / 14 cm (including the Cuff) before starting the heel. If you prefer a taller sock, repeat the 17-row stitch pattern an additional time, being sure to end with Rnd 14 before beginning the Heel.

• Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.

• This pattern includes written and charted instructions for the entirety of each sock. If you prefer to work from charts, I recommend reading through the written instructions before beginning to understand the placement/ construction of the Heel and Toe. Charts can be found on pages 7 and 8.

• This pattern is written for the Magic Loop technique. In the case of using double-pointed needles, the Front Needle is synonymous with Needles 1 & 2 and the Back Needle is synonymous with Needles 3 & 4.
