The Venus skirt is sexy, sparkly and cute. I promise, you’ll feel like a goddess wearing this.

Though this skirt is summery, you can easily wear it in cold weather too with the right layering and a coat. I wore the full set in September when it was 10 degress celcius at night and stayed warm because I wore stockings, a skirt underneath the Venus one and a coat.

This pattern is customisable in a few ways: you decide how lacy you want the stitches, how see-through you want everything, the fit and size etc.

Right after purchasing, you will receive two downloadable PDFs: the crochet pattern and a lookbook. The lookbook has photos of all the Venus pieces but you can use the search function to find the piece you want to see.

This pattern is best suited for advanced beginners but everyone is welcome and I’ve added a lot of photos and tutorials to the pattern to try to make it as beginner-friendly as possible. I’m happy to help you through every step.

The pattern is made-to-measure meaning that you’ll make the skirt according to your own measurements. However, you don’t have to make a gauge swatch or take your measurements beforehand as you can compare the panels to your body as you go.

I can finish one skirt in 2 days.

This pattern uses US terminology and the metric system.

Materials:

  • I used fingering weight cotton yarn (100 %, 200g/600m) from Woolstock (Danish store). The brand name is “ZLWXL”. I used approx. 200 g for the skirt. If you want a drapey look like me, I recommend using fingering weight 100 % cotton, but you can use any yarn weight and fiber you’d like. Just keep in mind that the pattern was made using non-elastic fibers.
  • 1-4 different crochet hook sizes. The hook size(s) depend(s) on what yarn weight and fiber you use and what look you’re going for. I help you pick the size(s) in the pattern. I used 4 different sizes but 4,5 mm was my main one (2 sizes larger than the recommended one). You don’t have to use that many different sizes though.
