This is a crochet pattern only and not a physical item.

The Aurora top is a light, lacy and sparkly cowl neck top. It takes no time to make and is super simple.

Info:

  • beginner friendly
  • made-to-measure
  • takes a few hours to make
  • great scrap yarn project
  • this pattern uses US terminology

Materials:

  • yarn: I used half a cone of 100 % cotton sequin yarn (200 g/600 m, fingering weight). I bought the yarn in a Danish store (Woolstock.dk), but the label says “ZLWXL” and I think that’s the brand name. I used cotton to get a lacy and drapey look.
  • Crochet hook: 1,5-2,5 mm larger than the (largest) size listed on the yarn label. My yarn label recommended sizes 1,75-2,5 mm, and I used size 4,5. If you don’t want the top to be as sheer as mine, go for 1,5 mm larger than the listed size. If you want it to be as sheer as mine, go for 2 mm larger than the listed size. If you want it to be more sheer than mine, go for 2,5 mm larger than the listed size.
  • Yarn needle: you will need the needle to weave in any loose ends. No sewing in this pattern.
  • Other materials: scissors and stitch markers (optional).

Skills needed:

  • chaining
  • single crochet
  • double crochet

Right after purchasing, you will receive a downloadable PDF copy of this pattern and a lookbook.
