Crusty Wave Socks is a toe-up ankle sock pattern that combines several interesting techniques. The Wave stitch pattern has lace and colorwork. In the foot, the colorwork is done as intarsia, as the white stripes aren’t worked in the sole side, only on the instep side. In the ankle, the stripes go around the whole ankle and
Short rows are used in the heel and in the cuff before ribbing.

I live in Helsinki, which is surrounded by the Baltic Sea. I have lived here for 9 years now. In the last three years, during which I started sailing, I have learned to love the Baltic Sea. It is a beautiful and intriguing wonderland above and below the surface. Due to its brackish water, the flora and fauna are a mixture of marine and freshwater species and the scenery is breathtaking. However, many industrial operations threaten the health and purity of the Baltic Sea.

I want to be able to enjoy sailing and swimming in the Baltic Sea for a long way to come and help preserve it for future generations. Therefore 2€ of the pattern price will be donated to John Nurminen’s foundation to support their work to purify the Baltic Sea. If you don’t want to support the protection and preservation of the Baltic Sea, you can get the pattern for a discounted price (5€) by using the coupon code “IPromiseToPolluteLess”.
