This is a pattern that both knits up quickly and is great fun for using up some mini skeins as the pops of colour in this design!

Please note that the pattern uses Fingering Weight held double throughout - alternatively you can substitute for a single strand of DK or Worsted weight yarn if you prefer.

What you will need:

  • Yarn - Total amount of 180g Fingering weight yarn held double (approx. 400m/437 yds per 100gm) or 180g Worsted weight Yarn (approx. 200m/220 yds per 100gm); In total you will need one full skein of your main colour and approximately 20gm of each of your contrasting colours.

Yarn used in the sample is by Knitting It Up Yarn on the Monkland base (85/15 Superwash Merino / Nylon) in the Chasing Pavements Colourway (1 full skein for the Main Colour) and Sookie, Melodrama, Royals and Lost Queen (20gm Mini skeins for the Contrast Colours).

  • Needles – 4mm (US6) & 5mm (US8) 16” or 24” circular for knitting in the round or a long cable for magic loop.

  • Notions

    • 1 Stitch Marker for marking the beginning of the round
    • A tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
  • Gauge – Approximately 5 sts/inch in cluster pattern on larger needles.

  • Size – The cowl is 26in (66cm) in circumference and is 11in (28cm) in depth.
