A fun little pattern for a complete pumpkin patch including leaves and vines - perfect for Halloween or other autumn-inspired table decorations.

You can either knit a pumpkin with just a little stem at the top or creates vines and leaves for a full patch. There is barely any sewing involved in shaping these pumpkins and it’s mostly simple decreases and increases that make them look that way.

Included in the pattern:

  • pdf with altogether 9 pages
  • very detailed step-by-step written instructions (video available as well!)
  • tons of pictures and helpful tips
  • video tutorials for all knitting techniques are available (on my blog)

Difficulty:
Intermediate

This pumpkin is knit in the round on 2.50 mm double-pointed knitting needles. Quite a lot of knitters have finished it doing magic loop or using much bigger needles as well.

Yarn and yardage:
Scrap quantities of fingering weight yarn will be enough (you barely need more than 10 grams). But the instruction can be used for bigger needles and heavier yarn qualities as well. (the result will be bigger then, obviously).

Skills required:
knit, purl, SSK, k2tog, k3tog, KLL, KRL, Longtail cast on, i-cord

Additional materials:

  • toy stuffing
  • wire (optional; to support the leaves/vines)

Errata: Row 47 previously had a typo that was fixed with version 2.01
It should read correctly: K2tog, k1, K1togrl, k1togll, k1, SSK
