The Daffodil Granny Square Cushion was inspired by the beautiful daffodils that spring up in my garden each year and can be customised to suit many different colour ways - not just yellow and orange! It is even stunning in a limited colour palette.

It is designed to fit a 36 x 36 cm (approx. 14 x 14 inches) cushion (pillow) insert, so it is important to complete a gauge swatch.

This has been made with several different brands of 8ply/DK/3 weight cotton yarns, but any preferred yarn of similar weight could also be used. Please be sure to meet gauge in order to obtain correct sizing for your cushion insert. My cornflower blue cushion was made using only 4 balls of Fiddlesticks Wren yarn, with very little leftovers!

Apart from the usual notions, such as scissors, yarn needle and st markers, you will also need three 1.5 cm (1/2 inch) buttons. You could also try crocheting your own buttons for a perfect colour match!

This design would suit an intermediate - advanced level crocheter.

Take a look at my wonderful testers’ versions to help you with your colour choices and placement, if needed.
