This shawl features a unique cable stitch that is combined with a Japanese ladder-type stitch, which combined make a striking shawl. It is a fun knit, and goes fairly quickly as it’s knit using sport weight yarn. For those of you that enjoy knitting cable lace, I think this cable will intrigue you. Even most veteran cable knitters will probably find this particular cable new and different from most that they have knitted.

The stitches are charted out only.

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of cable and lace knitting).

The shawl/stole was expertly test knitted by Rachel Schroder, who can be reached at: rachel.schroeder1@ gmail.com. The shawl was knitted with Lorna’s Laces Sportmate yarn, undyed. It’s final measurement is approximately 23 inches x 72 inches, and requires approximately 1050 yards.

There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
