The Danielle hat is a bottom up, over-sized, slouchy fitting hat that incorporates simple stockinette stitch, garter ridges, an unexpected fun and festive crown and a play on the combination we all know and love: mohair and merino stranded together.

This hat really shines in a variegated color. There are endless color possibilities as you have the option to change the colors of your brim and garter ridges by changing the color of your mohair. Is mohair not your thing? Any lace weight yarn could easily be substituted.

The Danielle hat is perfect for those of us with a larger head, big hair and locs. I decided to name my first pattern design in memory of my baby sister, Danielle, who embodied beauty and charm. You can read more about this inspiration on the blog.

If you are concerned about the over-sized fit, feel free to go down a needle size for a snug fit.
