I am not much of a hat wearer, but berets are something I can pull off without feeling like I look bald. They are classic and chic and totally in style right now! I have included a YouTube video tutorial for this pattern to help with the most difficult portions of the pattern.

Gauge:
I decided to measure gauge from the panel itself so you wouldn’t have to make separate swatches. You will need to complete the required amount of rows in order to check your gauge against the following measurements. If your measurements do not equal mine, switch out your hook size accordingly and begin again.

For the ww version and with your 6.0 mm hook: 16 hdc 3rd loop and 10 rows = 4” (10 cm)
For the bulky weight version and with your 6.5 mm hook: 12 hdc 3rd loop and 8 rows = 4” (10 cm)

Finished Measurements:
Size is customizable. Finished hat diameter should be approx. 10” (25 cm) across when laying flat (like a pancake) and made as written. Written to fit average adult-sized head circumference of approx. 21-23” (53-58 cm). The finished hat diameter should be approx. 9” (23 cm) across and 18.5-19” in length for the child-sized version.

There are no refunds for the purchase of my digital patterns. My patterns have been tested and edited accordingly; however, there may still be lingering errors as I am human. If you encounter an error, please notify me and I will be happy to make the suggested correction and send you a corrected copy if necessary.
