This playful hat features slipped stitches and stranded colorwork to achieve the geometric shapes. The garter stitch motifs pop against a stockinette stitch main color background. You can wear the ribbed brim folded for cozy warmth or you can wear it unfolded for a slouchy effect. Choose DK weight yarn like West Wool Tandem and enjoy the entertaining stitch patterns for this quick knit!

Sizes: One Size
For a larger size, go up one needle size for a slightly looser fabric tension.

Finished Measurements: 18” / 46cm circumference, 11” / 28cm from CO edge to top of hat. Shown on a 22.5” / 57cm head circumference for a fitted effect.

Yarn: DK weight

Yardage: Color A - 140yds / 128m
Color B - 10yds / 9m
Color C - 15yds / 14m
Color D - 15yds / 14m
Color E - 40yds / 37m

If you are knitting a two-color version using a main color for color A and a contrast color for colors B, C, D, & E, then you will require approximately 80yds / 73m for your contrast color in addition to 140yds / 128m for the main color.

Needles: US 6 / 4mm circular in 40” / 100cm length or size needed to obtain gauge
US 7 / 4.5mm circular in 40” / 100cm length or size or size needed to obtain gauge

Magic loop method is used for knitting in the rnd.

Notions: 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle

Gauge: 22 sts & 30 rnds = 4” / 10cm in colorwork pattern on larger needles.

For a larger hat, I would aim for a stitch gauge of 20 sts = 4” / 10cm in the colorwork pattern.
