Joining a Mystery Knitalong is like embarking on a thrilling knitting adventure! Over a few weeks, you receive a series of pattern clues that gradually unveil the final design. With each clue, anticipation and excitement grow as the project takes shape.

The project will be a top-down round yoke sweater with deep running (past the sleeve separation) Latvian-inspired colourwork featuring geometric shapes.

Yarn
It uses a Sport weight yarn, and high contrast is strongly recommended as the colourwork is quite intricate.
Select a solid, neutral main colour and a vibrant contrasting colour that can change throughout. It’s essential to ensure a consistent contrast between the main colour and the colour-changing yarn. Avoid sections with minimal contrast, which may give the yoke an erased appearance. By doing so, you’ll achieve a captivating and visually appealing result.

We’ve used the Spincycle Yarn Dyed In The Wool (100% American superwash wool; 183 m 200 yds / approximately 50 g) Do Ewe Knit? exclusive colourway “Across the Eweniverse” as the contrast colour and paired that with Moondrake Co. Chibi Sport (100% superwash Merino; 338 m 370 yds / 100 g) Rose Quartz colourway.

Gauge: 28 sts & 34 rows = 10 cm / 4” in Stockinette stitch and colourwork in the round, blocked. You can use any stranded colourwork or fairisle pattern for the swatch.

Suggested needles:

  • 2.75 mm (US 2) circulars 60-100 cm / 24-40” long and/or DPNs for small circumference knitting
  • 2.25 mm (US 1) circulars 60 cm / 24” long
