This design may look complicated, but it’s really quite easy. I have used very easy stitches (chain, single crochet and double crochet) to complete this entire wrap. The Skaska yarn used to complete the lilac version is very tiny and is actually measured at 28 wraps per inch. But, it is made very easy to work with in this design because I’ve used a larger than average hook, an F hook, which allows for much more movement and flexibility.

About the yarn used The pattern is written for Skaska laceweight (the lilac photo), however, I have also stitched it with equally stunning results in Claudia Handpainted Silk Lace (see additional projects) and Knit Picks Gloss Lace (aqua photo). If using the Claudia, you may not be able to reach the final two rows of the border. It still makes a luscious shawl without those two final rows, as shown in the photo. Note that the Knit Picks version of the pattern has minor size differences from the original. Less yarn is required for the Knit Picks version.

I’ve changed the yardage requirements because several people are wanting to make the design with a slightly larger laceweight yarn. Perfectly acceptable, of course! But, it requires a bit more yardage in the heavier yarn.
