At the end of a day at the beach, when the sun gets low and a breeze comes over the water, this is the hoodie you will want to throw on over your bathing suit so you can stay and roast marshmallows over the bonfire.

A lightweight knit in 9 sizes, easy enough for a beginner, this is the hoodie that you’ll reach for to throw on over a bathing suit at the end of the day at the beach or over your t-shirt as you set up your campsite.

What people are saying:
“The reason I am emailing you is to tell you that this pattern is by far the BEST pattern I have ever read. It is comprehensive and explains everything, very easy to read and follow along, I can’t say enough positive about and I have been recommending it to many. Worth every penny….. “ - Johanne, April 2020

Difficulty: Beginner. For several of the test knitters, this was their first knitted garment and they found it to be well within reach. Several of the testers have already started knitting a second one.

Sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL)(2X, 3X, 4X, 5X) for finished bust of
33 (36, 40, 44, 48)(52, 56, 60, 64)“/ 83 (90, 100, 110, 120)(130, 140, 150, 160) cm.

This sweater can be worn with a body-skimming fit or with a looser, less figure-hugging fit. The pattern has a section that will help choose the size that you will be most pleased with.

The pattern also has multiple customization options with clear, specific instructions for each. These include being able to personalize the amount of ease through the bust and underarm area, the amount of waist/ hip shaping, the length of the body and the sleeves, and the size of the hood.

Every size of this pattern was tested by either one or two test knitters, and the pattern was tech edited by DebBramham.

Construction: The body is seamless, worked top down on circular needles; the functional hood is worked flat and seamed. The simple design is accented by a fun textured border at the hood opening, cuffs, and waist, and the pattern also includes the option to have cozy thumb holes or not.

Yarn selection: This sweater calls for DK-weight yarn worked in a looser gauge for a hoodie that is lightweight enough to wear on a cool summer evening but also great for colder weather. The yarn used for the sample is from Fidley Dyeworks (fidleydyeworks.com)

Worked in solid or tonal yarn, this can be a wardrobe staple, but the unfussy design also allows you to have fun with a speckled or variegated yarn. Even those high-contrast yarns that can be tough to use will look great with this design.

Estimated yardage/ meterage required: 1000 (1100, 1200, 1300, 1350)(1450, 1500, 1600, 1700) yards / 950 (1050, 1100, 1200, 1250)(1350, 1400, 1500, 1600) meters

Pattern support: Designer email is included in the pattern in case you run into questions or problems. I love to hear from knitters!
