Forget those plastic bags ~ Think Eco-Friendly and make your own Market Bags!

Back in the mid 70’s, my old Nan was a true post-war DIY lady. The garden was full of fruits and veggies, we always had home-made cakes in the pantry and you never caught her just ‘sitting’. If she was sat down, she either had knitting needles or a crochet hook in her hands magically turning bags of yarn into blankets, cardi’s, scarves…. if we needed it, she made it!

Making market bags was my introduction to Crochet. More to keep me quiet I think!
Here I have tried to recreate one of the first market bags she taught me using a Linked Double Crochet for the base.
It provides a solid strong piece, so you can be sure nothing will fall through the bottom of this bag!

• Full photo tutorials included for advanced stitches
• 8-page PDF with full support available
• 450yds #4 weight / Worsted / Aran yarn used

For those of you that like to print out the instructions, I have left those pages clean for your convenience, meaning that you use less paper and printer ink.

The pattern is an 8 page PDF with full and clear instructions and photos to help novices and experts alike.
Full support is given via our Crochet Community Group. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
