Eleusis Cardigan is worked from the bottom up, with a mirrored lace detail in front and on the sleeves, and a wider lace panel in the back. The name Eleusis is inspired by the colorway, Persephone; Eleusis is the principle city where Persephone was worshipped.

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Damsel (100% Superwash merino wool, 335 yards/4 ounces) 2(2, 3, 4, 4, 5) skeins or approximately 800(1000, 1100, 1250, 1400, 1550) yards. Sample worked in
Persephone. Or, you may use any comparable sport weight yarn.

Needles:
US #6/4.5mm circular needle, 32 inches or longer (larger sizes may prefer a longer needle).
Set of US #6/4.5mm double pointed needles or preferred method for small circumference knitting in the round.

Gauge: 20 stitches/28 rows per 4” in blocked stockinette stitch.

This cardigan is worked in one piece from the cast-on to the underarms. At that time, back and fronts are worked separately. Sleeves are worked, shoulders are seamed and sleeves eased in, then neckband is worked.

There are charts both in the round and worked flat. There are pairs which are identical visually but the written directions differ. There are also charts which have only one line different from another. Be sure you are using the correct chart!

The two colors of stitch markers are to differentiate between the lace panels and the other marked spots.
