Have you ever admired the beautiful brioche knitting where there are raised stitches and set above other stitches of a different color in the background? Two colors of yarn are used at one time to create this lovely textured stitch pattern. Now, with crochet and two colors of yarn you can create a hat with a similar look.

I have included written instructions, a chart, a schematic and photos to help you learn this technique. Follow the easy instructions to work with two colors at the same time without cutting the yarn, and end up with only several ends to sew in,

Elysian is crocheted using one skein each of two colors of Brooklyn Tweed Peerie, or one skein each of two colors of Brooklyn Tweed Loft. Peerie and Loft both come in a wide range of colors so you are sure to find your two perfect colors.

And, if you make a small or medium size hat you can make two hats with two skeins of either Peerie or Loft.

Yarn: Two colors of fingering weight yarn

Suggested yarn: Brooklyn Tweed Peerie (210 yards/50 grams), or Brooklyn Tweed Loft (275 yards/50 grams).

Two skeins of either, one lighter color and one darker color and assign to main color (MC) or contrast color (CC).
MC: ribbing, crown and raised stitches, CC: background color.

This is an intermediate level pattern. Skills required include managing two colors of yarn, carrying unused yarn, counting stitches, decreasing, and following instructions with three sizes included.
