Designed for little ones, the Epicentre has no holes for little hands to get caught. This also makes laundering easier as the blanket holds its shape very well.

The Epicentre can be made from most 8ply yarns. Acrylic for durability, wool for warmth or cotton for a light Summer blanket.

The options don’t end there though! When made from double strand 8ply, an Epicentre floor rug is thick, warm and soft under foot.

Prefer working with finer yarn? 4ply cotton doilies, placemats, table centre pieces and light blankets can all be made using the Epicentre pattern with a smaller hook.

With an 8ply acrylic, the intended hook size is 4mm. Detailed information is included in the pattern to help you adjust your hook size if needed, to ensure you get perfect tension.

The pattern also lists out multiple yarn options so you know exactly how much yarn is needed for each size and style.

Suitable for beginners, this pattern has written instructions with more full sentences and less acronyms. Stitch diagrams and step by step photographs are also included.

Once the centre has been completed to row 8, the remainder of the design is worked up in an easy 2 row repeating pattern. A, B, A, B, A, B… This makes working up the design very relaxing with a simple repeatable pattern.

You can make the Epicentre as small or large as you need. Stop at 30cm and add an amigurumi head for a cute baby snuggie or continue to queen bed size. The choice is yours.
