The shawl is knitted from one tip to the other. You start with increases to the center of the shawl, then decrease until you are at the other end. Together with relaxing garter stitch, lace leaves and cables are knitted up in harmony with the construction of the shawl.

I used needle size 4 mm, and that gave me a gauge of 20/10, after blocking.

This all variates on how hard you block the shawl. I recommend fairly hard blocking to get the leaves and cable to justice. They will bloom after blocking.

You can easily dive into your stash and find whatever yarn you already have and adjust thereafter.
Dk yarn single thread, or two threads fingering held together. My testers used all different yarn, some dk, and some fingering held together with mohair.

Thicker yarn – bigger shawl.
Thinner yarn – smaller shawl.

There is no right or wrong here.

Happy knitting
