Fennec fox
Buy this pattern before August 15 and get 30% off (discount applies automatically, no coupon code needed)
With their huge ears and sandy color, fennec foxes are one of the most famous inhabitants of the Sahara desert. These tough little predators are adapted to survive in a very harsh environment, all the while looking almost too cute to be real.
This pattern is available with both right-handed and left-handed illustrations (in two separate pdf files). It includes regular yarn and faux fur yarn tail designs, as well as two options for the rear legs.
Size
About 15 cm (6”) tall to the tip of the ears if made with DK yarn, 18cm (7”) tall with worsted weight.
Tools and materials:
~ DK or worsted weight yarn in sand and black
~ 2.75/US size C hook if using DK yarn, 3.5mm/US size E for worsted (or size that gives you a tight, no-gaps fabric)
~ plastic safety eyes: 9mm for DK yarn, 12mm for worsted
~ fiberfill stuffing
~ stitch markers, pair of scissors, yarn needle, pins
~ optionally, for a fluffy tail: faux fur yarn in sand and black, and a 5mm/US size H hook
~ optionally, for ear fringes: faux fur yarn in off-white, sewing needle and off-white thread
Difficulty
This pattern is suitable for intermediate level crocheters who are confident with basic stitches and frequently used amigurumi techniques (ch, sl st, sc, sc2tog, invisible decrease, magic ring, working in BLO).
The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology (UK/Aus equivalents provided). It contains many in-progress photos, but also includes a text-only appendix for easy printing, if you prefer working from a printed pattern but want to save ink and paper.
Finished amigurumi made from this pattern are yours to keep or gift or sell, I only ask you to credit me as the designer in case you decide to sell them.
