Pets bring so much enjoyment to our lives, but if you can’t have a pet at home, you could knit one instead.  These furry friend knits are guaranteed to be cuddled for years to come.

You can use different colours to make the toy look more like your own pet, or get experimental with Swiss darning to add patches of colour on your toy.

IN THE PATTERN: The pattern has row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 8 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, sew seams, and embroider the noses.

  • A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
  • DK yarn (double knitting/light worsted weight); less than 100g per colour
  • Toy filling
  • Toy safety eyes (if you can’t get hold of toy safety eyes, you could embroider the eyes in yarn or use buttons instead)
