Listing for KNITTING PATTERN ONLY - Flamel Shawl – P219

This delicate soft and squishy shawl is the perfect project to enjoy, relax and work on in between more complicated ones, also very suitable for beginners and young knitters.

This pattern is knitted in a gradient yarn and a solid colour, and although the yarn is a 4ply sock yarn, it really does knit up quickly.
I specifically chose autumn tones, as we in the Southern hemisphere are heading for Autumn…. which is one of my favourite times of the year, love winter too. I know, not many of us can claim to love the cold weather, however I always find it easier to warm up by layering, than to cool down!!
I had so much fun designing and knitting this shawl, and I hope you enjoy knitting this up as much as I did!!

Shawl is knitted from the bottom up with fully written instructions, no charts.

A huge thanks to the test knitters who worked on this shawl, their projects are fantastic, and certainly showcase the versatility of colours that could be used.

NEEDLES REQUIRED
3.5 mm US 4 circular needles

OTHER MATERIALS
Tapestry needle to sew in ends

TENSION
Is not critical for this shawl, however a different gauge will affect the finished size and also amount of yarn required for the project.

For my sample the gauge was:
20 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) worked on 3.5 mm US 4 needles in garter stitch after blocking.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
Designed for fingering 4ply weight yarn in 2 contrasting colours, one dark and one light. I suggest working with a gradient for the dark colour.

Yarn used for this shawl was:
C1 – BENDIGO Woollen Mills Scrumptious (Colour – Lime Wash) 158 m / 173 yds per 50g ball.
85 g was used for this shawl.
C2 - Bendigo Woollen Mills Multicoloured 4ply Sock yarn, 70% Wool, 30% Nylon - Colour
(Autumn Leaves - 276) each 100 g ball is approximately 400 m / 438 yds. Used up the entire ball.
100 g / 400 m / 438 yds.
