In Flower Mound, Texas there is a mound that rises out of the Blackland Prairie. The Town has preserved this area and worked to make sure its slopes are covered with native plants. A springtime stroll up to The Mound’s summit is the inspiration for this hat. Crouch down and look up. All you see is tender new green grass, a big, wide blue Texas sky, and wonderful wildflowers! The caps are knit in the round, and there instructions for a flower to be knit flat, and another to be knit in the round. There are suggestions for altering the size of the leaves and the flowers. When it seems like winter is never going to break its grip, think bold, bright spring hat!
