Simple stockinette and garter combine in this cozy cardigan with a big shawl collar and hidden pockets. Construction is top-down and seamless (even the pockets!) with simultaneous set-in sleeves.

See last photo for sizing information. Shown modeled with about an inch of positive ease at the bust.

This pattern is best for someone with a bit of experience in knitting sweaters, although if you are good at carefully reading and following instructions, willing to ask questions if you get confused, and trust the pattern, you should be fine :)

Skills required:
• Long-tail cast-on
• Increasing
• Decreasing
• Picking up stitches
• Short rows
• Backwards-loop cast-on for underarms
• Icelandic bind-off (instructions provided)

Yardage details:
1580, (1750, 1890, 2020), {2190, 2320, 2460, 2630} yards of DK-weight yarn. Sample was knit in Miss Babs Killington (80% Polworth wool/20% Tussah silk) in the Fogbound colorway. A yarn with at least some non-superwash wool will work best because of the length.

Needles needed:
US 3/3.25 mm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge. The body is worked in rows, so any cable length is fine. You will need two circulars at the start. You will need needles to work the sleeves (two circulars, dpns, or cable length suitable for magic loop) and a long cable for working the collar and band all the way around the sweater in the size needed to obtain garter gauge (at least a 40” cable).
