This is the 5th pattern in the Zodiac of Beanies collection that have been inspired by the Jimmy Beans Exclusive Madelinetosh Zodiac colorways. My wonderful husband suggested the name for this beanie. I found this design to be more of a challenge to bring from what I was seeing in my mind to a finished object. It took several start, knit for a while, frog completely, and start all over again attempts. But all that was worth bring my vision to life!

Forest of Taurus is a cabled beanie with a manual folding brim. Ribbing is knit for several inches and then folded while wearing. This allows for the wearer to fold the brim into their preferred length over the ears. A faux fur pompom is attached to the top, but it still looks amazing without one.

The sample shown in the pictures is a size 3 modeled on a 21 inch head and used majority of the skein (I only had approximately 7 grams left over from 121 gram skein). Two skeins are recommended to account for gauge swatch and to avoid the dreaded yarn chicken game.

Sizes are listed as 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) instead of the standard small/medium/large. Please look at the finished dimensions and chose a size with a negative ease of 4-7 inches/ 10-18 cm. Sample in photos has a finished measurements of 16 inches/ 40cm and is worn with 5 inches / 13 cm of negative ease. (negative ease is where the finished garment is smaller than the wearer’s body)

Finished Measurements: 11.5 (13.75, 16, 18.25, 20.5) inches / 28.5 (34.5, 40, 45.5, 51.5) cm in circumference and 10 (11, 12, 12, 13) inches / 25 (28, 30.5, 30.5, 33) cm height (unfolded brim).

Suggested Yarn 2 skeins of Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage in JBW Exclusive colorway Taurus.
