Forest Trail Socks Pattern

The Forest Trail socks pattern was inspired by the many trails I’ve walked through BC forests. I truly think these are the perfect cozy hand knit socks to wear with my Blundstone shoes!

Yarn
Yarn support for this design was generously provided by two Canadian small businesses: Sirena of Wild in the Woods and Isabelle of Les Belles Bouclettes

This sock uses Unspun Roving (Sock/Fingering weight) and Lace weight held together to create a DK gauge.

Unspun Roving or Fingering and Lace weight held together:

  • 45 – 70g|95 – 130m |105 – 145yd unspun
  • 20 – 40g|175 – 350m |190 – 380yd lace weight Or approximately 80-120g DK weight held single

Construction
This pattern is a cuff-down sock with a heel flap and gusset. The pattern is written for 9” | 23cm circular needles but can be adjusted to use magic loop or double pointed needles.

Gauge
24 sts by 36 rounds per 4x4” | 10x10cm in stockinette stitch, worked in the round, after blocking.
