Just in time for Halloween…the Frankenbeanie has emerged!

This fun hat looks like 4 different hats stitched together with “frankenstein-like” stitches. Take those bits of fingering weight yarn (and in September 2022 we added DK Weight) you have laying around and knit up this great beanie! The crazier the combination, the more fun the hat!!

Materials Needed
For Fingering Weight: 65g/250 yards fingering weight yarn in 5 colors (13g/50 yards each)
US3-16” circular knitting needle and US3 double pointed needles
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge for Fingering: 30st by 40 rows = 4” x 4” stockinette in the round

Materials Needed
For DK Weight: 75g/195 yards DK weight yarn in 5 colors (15g/39 yards each)
US5-16” circular knitting needle and US5 double pointed needles
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge for DK: 22 st by 36 rows = 4” x 4” stockinette in the round

Size: Finished circumference of the fingering Weight hat is 18.5” unstretched and is intended to be worn with a few inches of negative ease (the hat is super stretchy)
Finished circumference of the DK weight hat is 20.5” unstretched and is intended to be worn with an inch of negative ease

Notes: Pattern is written with directions for fingering weight first, then DK inside the parentheses
Maribel’s Note: For a fun variation, cast on with the black color and knit one round before switching to the brim color

We used Rainier Roses Mini Sets for both of these hats!
