This pattern provides instructions for making your very own pear fruit, to be enjoyed as a play food item, an ornament, or a pet toy. The project is beginner-friendly and can be worked in the round for minimal seaming. The finished object measures roughly 5.5” (with stem) when working with Aran or heavy worsted weight yarn and US 6 (4.00mm) needles.

NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm knitting needles
Embroidery needle

MATERIALS:
5 g Pear Color (Aran or Heavy Worsted Wt.)
1g Leaf Color (Light Worsted - Sport Wt.)
1g Stem Color (Light Worsted - Sport Wt.)
Poly-fill

GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn used for the actual fruit is more bulky than recommended for the chosen needles. The weight of the yarn used for leaf and stem can and should be lighter for best results.

SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, including stockinette stitch and simple increases/decreases, seaming, chain stitch embroidery. Simple crochet chain using a threaded needle or your hands, if you don’t have a small crochet hook available.
