This fun and quick to make crochet pattern is suitable for an experienced beginner looking for a bit of the challenge. I have included lots of step by step photos and some videos to help you along the way.
Originally designed to be a lemon slice bag, depending on what colours you use, you can make any fruit slice: lemon, lime, orange…
Pattern is written in US crochet terms.
You will need:
6.5 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, stitch marker, scissors, chunky/bulky yarn.
I used Deramores STUDIO Anti-Pilling Chunky: approximately 100 g mustard (about 85 m), under
50 g (about 35 m) of fir and under 50 g (about 25 m) of frost colour. You can substitute this yarn
and use DK or aran/worsted doubled up if you haven’t got chunky/bulky yarn, the size of your bag
might be different.
My gauge/tension is 7 rows/ 6 stitches = 5 x 5 cm. However, this is not hugely important as
depending on your tension, you will get either a slightly smaller or larger bag.
Finished bag will be approximately 20 cm across, the length of the strap about 90 cm.
This pattern is also suitable when crocheting left-handed.
This pattern requires basic knowledge of crochet stitches:
Magic ring, slip stitch, chain, single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, how to do a colour change
and crochet to back/front loops only and in continuous circle.
