Gambol Beanie came from a mistake made years ago when I made my first hat and accidentally twisted the stitches when I joined in the round. I wanted to revisit that mistake and use that accidental moebius twist in this design. It came out as a haphazard looking knot and reminded me of the word “gambol”, to run or jump playfully. Gambol Beanie starts at the brim with one twist in the cast on edge. This is later set in the work before moving onto the body. The crown decreases have a ruched effect at the closing. Gambol Beanie has many options to allow you to customize in your style. Choose between dk weight or fingering weight held double, a rolled or ribbed brim, and cloche or slouchy versions!
