Gandy Dancer Mitts
The best things about recent times are the simple things.
Many of us have discovered the simple pleasure of a walk or bike ride on a local recreational trail. As I was naming this pattern, I kept thinking about the great trails we enjoy, such as the Gandy Dancer - a repurposed railroad bed. The rows of star stitches in the Gandy Dancer Mitts are reminiscent of our recreational trails. I hope you enjoy knitting these fingerless mitts or mittens.
I used Wonderland’s March Hare yarn for my mitts and mittens. This yarn is smooth and elastic. The colors are vibrant and the yarn has a great feel to knit with, and wear in the finished garment.
Due to the nature of the star stitch, these mitts have a wonderful stretch and loft that makes them fit hands of all sizes. They are fun to knit and beautiful to wear.
Please share your mitts with #gandydancermitts on social media. I love seeing your creations!
