Woven together over stretches of time, our friendships grow and weave forming unique tapestries of collective moments, enriching our lives and shaping who we are.
My good friends and testers, are going to meet in Rhinebeck this year, they might meet like this only once or twice a year, so, in order to mark the occasion I set out to make them something special. A cabled cardigan with pockets was requested by my faithful testers and I aim to please.
This design approach is creative and a bit unusual which makes it fun if you are used to more traditional methods of sweater construction. You will begin by knitting a cabled strip for the yoke. Stitches are then picked up along the edges accordingly, and pockets are inserted seamlessly and before you know it, a sweater is born.
It is not overly difficult to make so even the intermediate sweater knitter can jump in for some fun. Additionally, this project will also offer you button lovers out there a real opportunity to dive in. Incorporate a beautiful strip of sparkle or an interesting set made from nuts or glass. You can also just plan a mono-toned look and allow the cables to be the showstopper.
My wish is for you to take a moment to appreciate those in your life that support and love you. People who make you strive to be better.
This sweater represents the uniqueness and beauty in our friendships and those moments we spend together nourishing our souls.
