A simplified version of Ginnie’s Snood that I use as a fundraiser for a “local to me” Greyhound rescue group.

I knit and donate snoods for their online shop Gear 4 Greys who then transfer proceeds to Racing 2 Rehome to assist in the costs of healthcare and feeding fostered greyhounds rescued from the Victorian racing industry.

Profits from sales of the original pattern are donated by me directly to R2R. If you’d like to help in a small way please consider purchasing the original pattern but if you’d like to try this simplified version first then please download, knit and include your project on Ravelry plus share on social media.

I am happy for you to use this pattern for your own purposes but please do not resell as if it were your own. By all means though, make as many as you wish that are then donated to a sighthound rescue group.

You will require:
DK yarn - at least 130 metres
OR
Fingering weight approximately double the length required of DK OR a combination of both

A 40cm (16”) 4mm circular needle for knitting in the round though you could easily modify for working on straight needles.
