Genghis Khan, born in 1162, was the Emperor of the Mongol Empire, which he founded by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia. He was cruel, and his invasions accompanied by brutal massacres of the civilian populations.

Mongolia is also the home of a majestic animal: The Yak. Thus, the lovely 100% yak yarn used for this design was named after him (French): Gengis Khan. It reminds me of the beautiful landscape with its rolling plateaus, high mountains and plains in all shades of green and brown, where the horizon is free for your gaze to wander far off.

The leafy lace design used for this scarf goes well with the lightness of the material, a good sized shawl can weigh less than 100g. Perfect for the spring breeze, or cool summer nights!

Charted only, lace pattern is not written out.
I used only 3 balls of the Gengis Khan 2, which is 75g!
