This bulky textured crochet blanket works up fast with basic stitches and dynamic color changes! With a modern stripe design, this easy crochet blanket will complement any home décor, and the featured yarn is available in a gorgeous 24-color palette of coordinating colors. The texture of the Geode Blanket is created by working single crochet and double crochet into the same stitch, creating clusters that give the blanket an overall raised texture that stands out. This is an easy single-row repeat that is perfect for beginner crocheters and the larger hook size gives the finished bulky textured crochet blanket drape and squishiness. And FRINGE, because who doesn’t love a fun fringe!?

PATTERN NOTES:

  • There is no wrong side or right side to this reversible blanket. The rows worked in just one color will look thinner or thicker depending on the point in the pattern you are switching colors to.
  • The starting chain is worked with the same hook size as the rest of the blanket; if you work this chain loosely, it will help to prevent the next row from puckering. It might be helpful to go up a hook size if that works better for you.
  • The ch 2 turning chain does NOT count as a stitch.
  • The pattern is worked by repeating one row and switching colors at the end of the indicated row before turning.
  • You will work each cluster (sc, dc in the same stitch) into what was the single crochet from the previous row. The clusters will stack on top of each other to create texture.
