It’s the sweetest time of the year! Christmas is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with some holiday cheer? The Gingerbread Mystery Knit-a-long is the perfect treat for your holiday sweet tooth. This cozy project combines delightful textural stitches with classic stranded colorwork to create a holiday cowl bursting with sugary charm. Knitting begins December 1st with one clue revealed each day for 12 days. That’s 12 days of Christmas knitting fun! The final clue arrives on December 12, giving you plenty of time to finish your cowl and wear (or gift!) it before Christmas.
SCHEDULE
You will receive one clue a day for 12 days beginning on December 1st and ending on December 12th. That’s 12 CLUES!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- seamless construction
- stranded colorwork
- textural stitches
- slipped stitches
- video tutorials
- Holiday knitting fun!
A portion of this cowl will be worked in textural stitches. These sections will be charted and include written instructions. I provide tutorials to help you through the textural stitches. This pattern includes stranded colorwork. In fact, most of this pattern will be worked in stranded colorwork. The stranded colorwork will be charted, but will not include written instructions. All stranded colorwork will be done in the round and you will never need to carry more than 2 strands at once. The Gingerbread Mystery Cowl is intended for intermediate knitters who are comfortable with stranded colorwork.
SIZE
ONE SIZE : Adult
The overall shape & size of this cowl is NOT part of the mystery. This will be a shawl-shaped cowl. This is my absolute favorite shape for knitting a cowl. This shape is wonderfully wearable, and it is PERFECT for working colorwork in the round. If you have never knit one of my shawl-shaped cowls, check out the the cowls from the previous Christmas MKAL: the Merrymaking Cowl or from the Halloween MKALs: the Halloween Party Cowl the Witch’s Brew Cowl and the Haunted House Cowl.
