Granny Square Scoodie
PATTERN INFORMATION
The scoodie is worked in three sections: two block stitch granny squares for the hood and a rectangle of granny stitches for the scarf. Each section is joined-as-you-go or alternatively can be joined using any other preferred method.
SIZING
One size.
MATERIALS
220g Hobbycraft Leader of the Pack (100 g = 169 m)
(90g colour 1, 60g colour 2, 70g colour 3)
Any Aran weight, brushed acrylic yarn will work best for this; the fluffier the yarn, the less obvious the gaps between the stitches will be, and the warmer the hood will keep you. Alternatively, you can hold a strand of mohair or similar together with a smoother main yarn to achieve the same brushed/fuzzy effect. e.g. Hobbii Fluffy Day, Stylecraft Grace, James C. Brett Aztec Aran
Crochet Hook 4 mm US G/6– UK8
GAUGE
The gauge doesn’t necessarily matter for this project, especially if you’re working with a different yarn and hook size. Just crochet more or less rows per square to reach the required measurements.
LANGUAGE
English, written in US terms.
DIFFICULTY
This is a beginner pattern. Techniques to be familiar with: ch, dc, sc, sl st
