A warm and squishy cowl, perfect for gift making (or for yourself!), Gray Street is an infinity style cowl knit in the round with bulky-weight yarn and features a twisted rib stitch pattern. Three different colors are used - you can either have a gradient affect (like that in the sample) or play around with other color combinations.

Pattern also includes a photo tutorial on how to work the stitch pattern.

Pattern Information:

Finished Circumference: Approx 50”/127 cm

Gauge: 12 sts & 15 rws = 4”/10 cm in stitch pattern

Yarn: Approx 85 yds of bulky-weight yarn in each of 3 colors, for a total of 255 yds, shown in Puffin by Quince & Co (100% Wool; 100g = 112 yds), 1 skein of each of 3 colors, shown in (from light to dark) Kumlien’s Gull (color A), Kittywake (color B) and Sabine (color C).

Needles and other supplies:

  • US 15/10 mm 32”/80 cm circular, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • 1 stitch marker
  • Tapestry needle or crochet hook to weave in ends

Helpful Hint regarding Needle Size:
The yarn used is Quince & Co’s Puffin, knit up one needle size larger than I would typically use with the yarn to get gauge (because of the tight nature of the stitch pattern). If you are substituting yarn, choose a needle size that is one or two sizes larger than what the yarn’s “suggested” needle size is (doing a little swatch to make sure you like how the fabric looks in that needle size is always a good idea!)
