The pattern is a collection, of three socks, inspired by all our favourite outdoor activities. These patterns are approachable and fun, and have been created for the adventurous beginner right through to the seasoned sock expert. A great gifting collection with a little something interesting and engaging in each pattern. Intuitive repeats; easy and fun bite-sized bit of stranded colourwork; super easy ribbing for the ultimate boot sock. And otherwise satisfying sock knitting great for projects on the go, TV/reading/podcast/etc knitting.

-These socks are knit using fingering weight sock yarn.

-The knitting is adventurous beginner sock level.

-There are 4 adult sizes.

-This collection is constructed from the toe up with a gusset and heel flap contruction.

-This collection also comes in cuff down construction which can be found here: Great Outdoors Lite Socks Cuff Down

-This collection also comes in a DK (fingering weight held double) collection for the ultimate thick and squishy sock! Found here: The Great Outdoors Socks Toe Up
And here: The Great Outdoors Socks Cuff Down

Here are the details on each design:

Hike Socks- Ultimate form fitting, no budging, boot sock! These seriously don’t move in your boots! Add in some sporty stripes and that special sock set you’ve been waiting to use and these are easy, intuitive and oh so rewarding to wear!

Ski Socks - whether you want to ski…or just stay in the chalet with me and a hot toddy and some knitting, these whimsical little socks are a super fun project. Approachable stranded knitting, with an intuitive repeat. A lovely sock set plus a wee bit of a 2nd contrast colour is all that’s needed.

Fish Socks - inspired by the traditional cables of fishermans sweaters and the colourful and vibrant lures in their tackle boxes, these are my all out ode to a sport I am romatic about….but don’t actually want to participate in

We have a mock cable here…so no actual cabling, thank you very much. And a flash of fun stripes, will have you reeling in a big one in no time. Have a special skein for the mock cable? Or a gorgoeus mini set you’d love to use for the contrast toe and cuff and stripes? These are your socks!
